Waterschap Rijn en IJssel
The Rhine and IJssel Water Authority is responsible for water management in Oost-Gelderland, the south of Overijssel and the southeastern part of the Veluwe.
The yearly costs of treating waste water for the Dutch Water Authorities are considerable. Moreover, valuable energy and raw materials are often lost with this waste water.
That is why the Rhine and IJssel Water Authority, together with universities, knowledge institutes and companies, are working hard on the wastewater treatment of the future. A future in which water treatment plants will become real sustainability factories: Energy and raw materials factories that do not produce waste and are energy-neutral. In this way, we are increasingly working towards a fully circular economy.
