Water authorities

Four Dutch water authorities together form the Kaumera cooperative. It is responsible for the production of Kaumera.

The water authorities are involved with Kaumera due to their ambition to contribute to a circular economy. Kaumera is a replacement of petrochemicals in many application. Thus reducing the amount of harmful materials in our environment. By extracting Kaumera, the amount of residual sludge is lowered by a considerable amount. This saves energy and CO2 emission. 

The new cooperation brings extra commitment to the development of Kaumera. An innovation like this requires a lot of research. By joining their expertise and resources, the water authorities can conduct more research and share knowledge. Thus, they accelerate the product development needed by the market. The participants in the cooperative make decisions together on production and on the strategy for Kaumera's development.
