Kaumera Sales & Services: focus on industrial use
With a new venture founded by the cooperative of water boards and Royal HaskoningDHV, Kaumera is entering an exciting new phase.
Now that applications in agriculture are starting to prove themselves, it is time to focus on other, industrial applications as well. The new company makes this possible. Kaumera Sales & Services B.V. was officially launched at the beginning of November. This is a joint initiative of four Dutch water boards and engineering firm Royal HaskoningDHV.
Patrick: ‘My focus will be on the continuation and further expansion of Kaumera's business network and management. In this innovative public-private partnership, we will build value creation together! Value creation for sustainability, but also financially. We want to develop innovative solutions and circular opportunities to make the best use of Kaumera's raw material from wastewater. But we also do this from a financial perspective with commercial value. Ambitious with a sense of perspective and a healthy drive to perform, I will work on this together with the team. Tangible results should be inspiring and motivating to put our shoulders to the wheel together and develop Kaumera further.’
Patrick takes on the challenge together with a team of experienced people in business development, product development, technology and communications. The Kaumera team works with the water sector and industry to create applications that are sustainable and valuable.
Developing new applications
Recent years have proven Kaumera's valuable properties as a biostimulant in agriculture, forestry and horticulture. But there are still many new applications to be discovered. Kaumera can help accelerate the transition from chemicals to green alternatives.
Kaumera is a gel and has good binding properties due to the amino acids and multiple sugars present, it can repel water and has flame retardant properties. It can also work as a binding agent in, for example, lime hemp. This offers opportunities, for instance to make the (bio-based) construction industry more sustainable. Another application is better separation of dredging sludge or wastewater by promoting flocculation. Kaumera can also be cross-linked to make fertiliser coatings, for example, or used to better break down other polymers. In short: Kaumera is versatile. We invite industry to learn about Kaumera as a bio-based alternative.
